Planted by us 25 years ago, this young red beech tree died recently before developing any red wood. Turned wet to about 3mm then lightly sandblasted when dry, with delicate carved feet, and an oil and wax finish.

Rescued Firewood

Camphor collected from a local tree and turned that day. 230mm diameter and approx 130mm high at the highest point.

Feather and burl grain on this piece rescued from the firewood pile. Surprisingly little movement between sap and heart wood.

Swirling Waves

Made from bleached Alder with bark removed, it depicts the swirling waves of life which push and pull us in different directions.  Embellished with Milliput and Pyrography it measures 225 x 150mm and is finished with Beall Buffing system.

Turned from a branch of a Pohutukawa tree.

The natural edges are heavily soaked in "super-glue" to eliminate any risk of peeling or breaking off.

First simple natural edge bowl, 182mm at it longest axis and 150mm at its shortest, 95mm tall at highest and 85mm at lowest. Wood unknow, finished with Penetrol Wood oil on the outside and food safe oil on the inside.

From ancient swamp Totara with all the holes of time and insects. The exterior was then worked by hand to retain the natural look and the effect of a waterfall.

Base is young Totara. Finished with Danish Oil.
